BIOGRAPHY

Mason Weiss is an artist from Los Angeles who stitches together mixed media autobiographical sculptures that act as an ongoing diary where each piece is an entry navigating his identities as a queer transmasculine person.


Weiss graduated from California College of the Arts with high distinction in 2019, earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Writing and Literature minor while receiving the Diversity Scholarship, Craft Forward Scholarship, and All College Honors. He is a featured artist in “The Bureau of Queer Art Vol. 2” publication by Art Gallery Studios in Mexico City, Mexico. Weiss currently has a solo exhibition, “Bare All,” on Artsy and is a part of “The Bureau of Queer Art” group exhibition on Artsy, as well, both of which are presented by Dab Arts Inc. He was selected by juror Patrick Ela to show in “Contemporary Art: Folklore, Fakelore, Personal Myths Narratives” at the Bonita Museum and Cultural Center, San Diego, CA. Weiss has participated as an artist in residence at GlogauAIR, Berlin, Germany from October 2022 through March 2023 and exhibited in two Open Studios during his stay. His work has been published in “Trans Art Magazine: Rebirth,” Corvallis, OR and “STORIES,” Dab Art Inc.’s juried quarterly arts publication and online exhibition. Weiss has participated in several group exhibitions including: “INNER SENSE,” by Art Fluent and “SHAME," at Hera Gallery, Wakefield, RI.
